Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. The role of the governing board is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a school. Time and time again Ofsted (the national inspection body for schools) has noted that the most effective schools demonstrate effective leadership and management - including by the governing board. - National Governors Association (NGA)
There’s a link to the NGA here if you’d like to learn more about the role Governors have to play in a school. http://www.nga.org.uk/Be-a-Governor.aspx
The governing body at Grindon Hall is comprised of professionals from all walks of life including education and business. We are a strong and resolute body and strive to get the best for our school. Currently our focus is placed around helping the school lift the Special Measures judgement as given to us by Ofsted. We are making reasonable progress towards this and we are working hard to continuously improve the school within the constraints we are faced with.
You can reach us via email on or directly through the school office.
